The summer season is coming to an end and, for many of us, that September ‘back to school’ feeling is already here.
We are entering one of the best seasons for building your business! The more you do now, the better you will be sitting as you enter the Holiday Season.
Here are a few suggestions on how you can transition from the beach back to building for a successful fall.
.
Focus on the positive
Think of all the things you love about what you do – sharing this amazing system, interacting with clients, sending out appreciation, solving problems, innovating, being creative, working with your team – and then figure out how you can do more of that.
Let these positive feelings fuel your activities for the next quarter and use them to inspire positivity among your team.
.
Focus on the negative
I’m a very positive person but I think there’s real value in examining the ‘negative’, or put a better way, thinking critically.
Look at what’s NOT good about your situation and then figure out what needs to happen to change it.
.
Focus on your goals
September is like a mini New Year, a time to reevaluate your goals, examine your activity, and make a plan for how to finish the year off strong.
The fall is also the time to start planning your goals for the next year, looking at what you need to do to get where you want to be. What you do now will help you with a strong holiday season and help you gain momentum going into the new year.
.
Give your team a pep talk
Just like your principal started the school year with an assembly, you should hold one with your team. Have a conference call or meeting in your local area. This is a good opportunity to bring people back together and remind them of the game plan ahead.
An event can help those people dragging their heels off vacation feel reinvigorated, and it can be a subtle reminder that it’s time to get back to work and start building for the busy time of the year.
.
Meet with each key leader on your team
Are they feeling motivated and excited? Are they working toward their next promotion?
Taking the time to talk either one-on-one with the key builders on your team, or to your A-Team, keeps you better informed on what’s happening in your business and motivates your team by demonstrating you are engaged and interested.
